As Zach became more dependent on me to help him walk I would help him stand up and we would hold each other by the arms while facing each other. We would pretend we were dancing as we went from one place in the house to another. Just dancing.- Mom

I remember our first year at Camp CLIFF in Texas, 2006. He had just finished his 1st chemo protocol regimen. The evening of the dance party I held Zachary and we danced. He was barely 6 and his little legs wrapped all the way around my waist. He would lay his little soft bald head on my shoulder and we danced. He seemed so little and so fragile. He loved to dance with his momma.- Mom

  1. I was sitting at LGA next to Tia watching the girls do gymnastics. She had Zach with her there that day. Zach had been playing but decided it was better to come over and mess with mom. He climbed up in Tia's lap and had her (and me) cracking up for the longest time. It seems so simple, yet I'll never forget it because it struck me at the time how much love there was between these two people. I felt a little guilty, like I was an intruder on the moment, but I couldn't take my eyes away. Of course parents and children love each other, but Zach's love for Tia (and she for him) in that moment was palpable, and I really felt it.
